A ten-carat elongated cushion measures about 16 millimeters long. Compare that to a ten-carat round brilliant diamond, that measures roughly 14 millimeters in diameter.

RARE LARGE STONES
CVD crystals grow wide, not deep. A diamond's depth normally runs about 60% of its girdle diameter; CVD material reaches roughly 20%. That single constraint is why every record stone, like the 50.25-carat certified in 2023, the 75.33-carat unveiled in 2024, is an emerald or square-emerald cut. The material cannot be cut into a round or a cushion at that weight.
For this reason, a genuinely well-cut large round is more scarce than an emerald of the same weight.

TRUE FANCY COLORS
Most colored laboratory-grown diamonds are colorless stones that are treated afterward with HPHT processing, irradiation, low-temperature annealing, and sometimes all three. The treatments are stable and permanent.Blue color can be achieved during growth, through boron doping.
